IRO Coating Additive Co. provides market-leading solutions for coatings and
paints for a wide range of applications. Each product has its own very defined
characteristics and needs and this is why the company creates from additives for
architectural paint applications to aerospace coatings. The entire range of
products is included in the additives division which is where Concentrol studies
and develops additives that provide paints with the desired finish and
properties.
This division offers a variety of lines of work classified in ranges by
technological function on the coating.
Antifoaming agents
The range of products includes antifoaming which constitute the most
significant product line in the additives for paints and
coatings. These products are designed specifically for the paint industry.
We offer a wide product line that covers all types of applications such as
conditions of use, and type of emulsion.
Each product has its own specific properties and a specific dosage for each
stage of the manufacturing process.
They are 100% solid defoamers made from mineral oils. They possess
antifoaming and deaerating properties in paints for construction or in the
decorative industry and have an antifoaming effect when they are made and
applied. The advantages of these paints are that they require a small dosage and
are highly effective.
The emulsion defoamer contains 22% solids, derived from mineral oils. Its
properties also include deaerating and antifoaming in the process of
manufacturing. This product can be utilized as a cost-effective defoamer for
high PVC paints with a high filler content. It can be added at the beginning and
at the close.
These emulsion defoamers are made from vegetable oil derivatives. They are
used for deaerating and foaming in decorative and construction paints. They do
not contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or semi-volatile organic compounds
(SVOCs). They conform to EU regulation 10/2011 (plastic material in contact with
food). The benefits they present are a good balance of dosage/effectiveness. The
greatest performance can be realized when the drug is fully integrated at
startup.
This is a solid 100% silicone-based defoamer. It has antifoaming and
deaerating properties in 100 solid epoxy systems that are 100% solid that are
free of solvents (they contain a reactive diluent that reacts). Its advantages
include an excellent finish on the surface.
Wax and silicone emulsions
There are numerous references to silicone emulsions as well as waxes in the
range. Emulsions of wax can be utilized to create smoothness, anti-blocking and
matting effects, gloss improvement, water repellency, scratch resistance and
general improvement of the surface finish.
Concentrol has two emulsions in order to enhance the texture of paints. This
makes it easier to apply them using a brush. These emulsions have
water-repellent properties.
Wax Emulsions, as well as being water-resistant, may also help be able to
prevent the "snail slime" effect or provide anti-scratch properties and
resistance to high temperatures. Concentrol provides a wax microemulsion, which
keeps varnish from turning yellow and is ideal for coatings in indirect contact
with food.
Silicon surface area ingredients
The range of products allows for better wetting without increasing foam
generation, with doses up to 10 times less than the doses of traditional wetting
agents. They are able to create special finishes, decrease friction, enhance
scratch resistance, and increase resistance to abrasion, scratching and other
types of damage.
These antimicrobial additives for coatings offer varnish extension,
anticrater and levels capabilities. Each product is suited for each product.
Concentrol has options for wood varnishes, both in solvent and aqueous systems,
industrial paints or UV systems.
Additional products
There are also dispersions in aqueous form of metal soaps, which provide the effect of matting for anti-adherence and slip and custom-designed polymeric dispersions that are part of the paint formulation.
